Isolation Cup

Thank you once again to all the students who actively participated in the Isolation Cup. It was great to see so many varied sporting talents. I hope that you have all thoroughly enjoyed being apart and watching each of the Challenge’s short videos that have been sent out. I would like to thank Jill Whiting from the Development office for her expertise in putting all these videos together.  The winners of the Isolation Cup will be announced soon.

Sport Term 3

As community sports starts to return to training, I hope that this will be a positive for the school sports. I am certainly missing getting out with the Monivae sports teams. Behind the scenes, School Sports Victoria, AFL and Netball Victoria are still hoping with the Victorian Government continuing to announce further easing of restrictions, that they will be able to run a modified program in Term 3.

There have been a number of sporting events that are currently penciled in to take place in Term 3 depending on restrictions as well as some that have already been cancelled. Sports below are still subject to the school regulations and restrictions so are currently only tentative. Sports that organisers are hoping to see run in 

Term 3:

• School Girls Netball Championships – this will be with restricted number of teams
• Senior AFL – boys and girls
• GWR Cross Country
• Clay Target – still waiting confirmation from clubs and organisers
• GWR Athletics
• GWR Hockey - Intermediate

As further news emerges of easing restrictions for both the community and school, I will keep you up to date with all sporting events. Remember stay safe, stay active and stay connected.
