Faith and Mission

It has been a disrupted term for the Faith and Mission team, with the postponement of Year 7 reflection day, Year 8 reflection day, Sacred Heart Mission trips and all face to face liturgies for the term. However, the team has been busy putting together some online options for students and staff.

The following activities were conducted during term 2.

Resurrection Liturgy: Held to celebrate Easter. (run by Faith and Service captains and College captains.) – This was done online.

Reconciliation Week Service: To recognise national reconciliation week from May 27th to June 3rd. Once again, this was presented online.

ANZAC Day Service: It was pleasing to see so many students involved in this online process.

Letter writing:

As well as these online services, on return to Monivae our Year 11 students undertook a letter writing task. They wrote letters to members of the WDHS Aged Care homes, realising that isolation has had an impact on others as well.

Coming Up:

With restrictions still in place, our Sacred Heart Day celebrations will have a different look this year. It will be held on Friday June 19th, the day where the Catholic church celebrates the Solemnity of the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus.

Monivae College will provide lunch for every student on this day as a recognition of their importance to us. The students will finish the day in homerooms partaking in a quiz organised by our Year 12 Leaders, as well as watching a special video created by our Year 12 students.

May the Sacred Heart of Jesus be everywhere loved.
