K-6 Return to School

Yesterday all students of 'Essential Workers' continued to work on their Google Classroom activities with a variety of classroom teachers (this will continue on Friday).

All students in Years K-6 will return to school this week on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. Students will still be following the online learning platform via Google Classroom.

Next week will see the return of all K-6 students and there will no longer be any online lessons. When students come to school they must bring their own water bottle as the bubblers are not in use. All students from Year 1-6 need to have their own pencil case with items clearly labelled with their name, please.

K-6 Weekly Challenge

This is the last week for our challenge. It has been great to see so many children take up the challenge each week and display their creative abilities. Week 5 Challenge is about 'Sorry Day'. Students need to Design a poster using the word ‘Madja’ which is Gamilaroi for sorry. Posters can be designed using any form of media eg digital, paint, crayons, 3D, water colours, texta etc. They then upload a picture of their creation into their Google Classroom. All entries must be submitted by Friday 3:00pm this week via a photo. This is not a compulsory activity – optional only!

Uniform

Students are expected to be in full school Winter uniform as of June 1. At the moment students have the option of wearing either Summer or Winter uniform, but it can not be a combination of both. If wearing their Winter uniform, students must have ties on. If for any reason your child is out of uniform, please send in a note. Please check our uniform policy and what is required on our school website. A reminder that students should not have nail polish on and are not allowed to have shaved designs in their hair.

School Recycling Program

We are continuing our recycling program across the school. TerraCycle and Colgate® have partnered to create a free recycling program for oral care product packaging as well as a fundraising opportunity for participants. Any funds we raise will go to Catholic Mission. Program accepted waste includes: toothpaste tubes and caps, manual toothbrushes, electric toothbrush heads, toothbrush and toothpaste tube plastic packaging, floss containers. Please recycle your cardboard packaging in your kerbside recycling bin. Electronic toothbrush handles and bases are not recyclable through this program.

A bin will be placed in the front office where recyclables can be collected or students can bring them into their classrooms give them to their teachers for collection.
