Middle School Report

What an interesting year it has been! It felt like we just settled in and then for the first time in living memory students weren’t able to participate in on site learning and everyone's technology experiences and skills have been improved by remote learning.

Middle Years Leadership would like to thank the families for supporting their children during remote learning. We know it was very difficult for some and it took some time to adjust  and for others it was much easier and they were highly engaged in learning.

Teachers have been working hard with students to ensure they feel supported as we settle back into on site learning.

The Middle Years Team would like to thank all the students for the high levels of positivity in the past few weeks and their ability to settle back into the routines at school. We know for some this has been very difficult given some unusual sleeping patterns developed while on remote learning. Many of the teachers were also going to bed very early in the first week back after having to adjust to a full school day.

The Middle School Team would like to thank all the students who have been wearing the correct uniform and would like to remind students that term 3 will require all students to wear full winter uniform.

The Middle School Team has been working with our  Curriculum and Pedagogy leader, Sara,  to develop exciting selectives for our future year 10 students and 2021 year 9 students. We have held student led workshops to gain insight into what students are interested in learning and how we as a College can help create selectives that will engage their interests. Students were given the opportunity to review a range of selectives and provide feedback to teachers. More information regarding the process students will follow for selecting their subject for 2021 will come at a later date.

During the last few weeks of school students have been participating in some exciting learning opportunities that weren’t able to be experienced during remote learning.

Middle Years Leadership Team would like to recognize the following students for their remarkable commitment to our school value of “Embrace Learning” during
