Remote Learning Reports

Revised student reports for semester one due COVID-19

Dear Parents and Carers,

The Department of Education and Training has adjusted the expectations of Student Reports for Semester one in recognition of the transition to remote and flexible learning which occurred during Term Two.

While our school has continued to deliver its teaching and learning program and monitor the achievement and progress of each student, there have been some unprecedented changes to our usual program.

At Edgars Creek we know it is vital to involve students and their parents/carers in learning. This process includes providing reports on student learning.

The Semester One Report will provide you as the parent/carer for your student with a report which includes information on student achievement for each curriculum area taught, however there are some changes from our usual Semester One reports.

 These reports will include:

  • a description of the areas of the Victorian Curriculum your child is being taught
  • a description of the students Work Habits in both the classroom in Term 1 and the remote and flexible learning environment in Term 2, weeks 1 to 8.
  • a comment on how the student has adjusted to the remote and flexible learning environment
  • student attendance for each subject
  • a grade of satisfactory or unsatisfactory for each Common Assessment requirement

The school is unable to include the teacher judgements and a five-point scale due to the significant changes to our program due to COVID-19. We will report on your child’s achievement at the end of the year.

In addition to this report the College will be providing parents and carers with the opportunity to discuss the students results early in term 3 at the Student Led Parent Teacher Conference (Parent/Teacher telephone interview).  More information will be shared with families in the first week of Term 3 on how to book using Compass for the telephone interview.

If you have queries in the meantime regarding your child’s report please feel free to contact the Middle School leadership team to discuss your concerns.
