Student of the Week

Acknowledging Learning Achievements

As a school we have been extremely impressed with the high quality of Learning Tasks which have been undertaken at home!

If you are wondering what the teachers can see when you submit your learning, check out the images below.

Student of the Week...it's a bit different!

This week we are highlighting the learning of our students, and checking out what they have been doing whilst learning from home.

The students below have submitted their photos and clips via the "Star in the Newsletter" section of Google Classrooms. This section will remain open for the rest of Term Two, so you can still make a submission if there is something you would like to share.

Home Learning Super-Stars!

Harry- Class FA has been busy making scones. They look delicious, and Harry even cleaned up after himself, then he helped with the washing. What a star in the making!

Alyssia R- Class FB has created an underwater scene form Dr Seuss, which makes us all look forward to being able to get back into the water. Great job Alyssia, we love the eyes!

Matilda VG- Class 1B amazed us with her knowledge of so many interesting and emotive words. Great work on sorting out some really tough vocabulary. We can't wait to see some of those words appear in your upcoming writing pieces!

Quinn C- Class 2A will brighten up your day! Check out her amazing sculpture of a rainbow. The scale and curve of the rainbow is just brilliant, and accurate in representation!

Pippa- Class 2A applied her brilliant artistic skills to produce a portrait of Arlo, who was the dog featured in a recent mentor text for a Year Two art task. We love the nose, it adds so much character to Arlo!

Lily H- Class 2B has been busy putting smiles on the faces of people as they walk past her house. Check out the amazing photos of Lily, as she shares a little bit of fairy magic to brighten up your day.

Archer- Class 34A is keeping in touch with his Groove Foundations drumming lessons via video conferencing. We bet your neighbours are loving the tunes you are playing in the backyard. Very creative!

Emily B- Class 34A created a beautifully arranged scene for the ZartArt Competition, 'Home is where the art is'. We are in awe of your amazing talent! This is so great!

Laura JH- Class 34B has combined her cooking, science, and geography skills all into one absolutely amazing (and edible) model of Uluru. Check out her video below.

Owen P- Class 34B turned his attention to the kitchen and cooked up a first-class meal for some dinner guests. In Owen's own words "I made my first dinner on my own, Tacos! Lately I’ve been baking lots, and I made dessert when my Granny and Granda came for dinner. Yum... sticky date pudding." 😋

Hayden M- Class 34C has taken some great notes about a famous Australian landmark, the Sydney Opera House. Hopefully, once the travel restrictions are lifted we can visit Sydney to view the architecturally amazing shells that Hayden is referring to. Great research skills Hayden!

Holly B- Class 56B must have inherited the same amazing artistic talents as her younger sister. Holly has created a brilliant artistic piece for the ZartArt Competition "Home is where the art is". We love this one Holly, and think it would be a great canvas to hang on any wall!

Ruby K- Class 56C has designed and created something which is out of this world! In Ruby's own words "This is my solar system diorama I made out of an empty box, and then painted the black background and yellow stars. Then I got some wire and fitted it to the top of the box so I could hang the planets down in the middle of space. I then printed off the planets onto cardboard and cut them out. Next, I got some yellow cellophane and scrunched it into a ball for the sun. I cut a hole in the side of the box and stuck the sun through. Lastly, I got a torch and held it near the sun so the sun shined bright! That is how I made my Solar System!!!" 😁
