Secondary Year 12

Term 2

Year 12 Students and their Parents have been engaging in Transition Meetings with Bronwyn and Rhiannon deciding on and preparing for post school options to ensure every one of our students has a bright future ahead of them once they leave our care.

Same as the Year 11 students, the Year 12 Work Related Skills placements were all put on hold and new ways for the students to practise their new found skills had to be found.  The students were combined into 4 mixed groups and engaged a series of challenge activities focused on key employability skills such as communication, team work, planning, initiative and enterprise.

Students had to design and market a new brand of soft drink, build a boat that could hold a stapler and redesign the Australian flag to communicate a specific message. Students have been very engaged in these challenges and have really enjoyed expressing their creativity.

The school canteen program will resume during next term, however we are not yet sure about our Bunnings BBQ program. The Canteen will be in the new building and will have a new fresh look to its menu and operation procedures.

More information will follow about that once all the plans are in place and the space is available for use.
