From the Principal

We are learning together as we return to the classroom and transition to a ‘new normal’.

I was thrilled to share the news at assembly that Prep, Years 1 and 2, Year 11 & 12 would return next Tuesday 26 May 2020.  I realise many families are relieved, some families are disappointed but all families understand that the health and safety of our children, staff, parents and wider Greater Hamilton community must come first. I am also so grateful that parents have recognised and appreciated the extraordinary work of staff, and we are hopeful the patience, kindness and good humour that have characterised our partnerships during remote learning will continue as we return to the classroom.

Mr Nelson will send a letter home to Myrniong families, Mr MacLean and Miss Waldron have recently updated their ‘Senior School Return to Classes Advice’ for all Senior School families and Mr Monk has created an even more detailed document for our Boarding families.  Please read this documentation carefully and I ask all families to promptly complete the CareMonkey acknowledgement that declares your son and/or daughter is asymptomatic.   This important safeguard will be required each week for the remainder of Term 2.

As I suggested to the boys girls and staff, ‘we are all learning together’ and must adapt to the new rules and measures in place designed to keep our school healthy and most importantly, open.  This massive responsibility falls on each one of us as COVID-19 restrictions continue to be eased now and into the future.

We remain genuinely excited about welcoming students back to the classroom and being a whole school once again.
