Micah Week

Micah Week is the final week of school for Year 10 students. Micah week follows the first Sunday of Advent. The name ‘Micah’ has its origin in the following quotation from the book of Micah: 'to act justly, and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God.' The week is also named after a long serving legendary past staff member Michael Berry, who was beloved by JTC staff and students.

During Micah week, students participated in a combination of exams and immersions to prepare them for Year 11 and adulthood. On Tuesday students visited Notre Dame University and on Thursday UWA to experience life as a university student. On Wednesday students participated in the RAC Drivers Education Day organised by Rotary WA, WA Police, St John Ambulance and RAC. Students also participated in a College-based sustainability activity coordinated by Mr Adrian Sims. On Friday students competed in House Groups for the coveted Micah Cup. Congratulations to Ward House for taking out the 2022 Micah Cup. Micah week concluded with an amazing student driven talent show.

Thank you to all the staff who attended the various excursions and immersion opportunities, to the hard-working grounds staff who prepared rooms and activity areas, our illustrious AV Team led by Mr Jeff Jansen, and finally to students for engaging in Micah week in the best way possible.

Years 7/8 Water Polo

Another fantastic day out at HBF for the Years 7/8 Girls School Sport Water Polo on Friday last week. The A-Team came home with the shield as overall champions! Both teams were a mix of Years 7 and 8 students and it was great to see both year groups working together and learning off each other.  The day was filled with great energy and passion, well done!

This draws to a close another wonderful year of sport at the College. We have seen fantastic performances across the year and we have loved watching all our students competing in the right spirit.  We will hit the ground running next year with NAS Trials and the Swimming Carnival scheduled for Friday of week 2.  Stay tuned for all the information in the Week 1 newsletter and notices.

Have a lovely and safe holiday and we hope to see you back next year fit and healthy.
