Dear Parents

It is so hard to believe that another school year has now ended! What a busy, rewarding and fun-filled year it has been, thanks to the dedication and hard work of all our staff; the enthusiasm and cooperation of our students; and the wonderful support of our families.

To all our Pre-Kindy to Year 6 students – it’s now time to celebrate! We are very proud of all our students for always trying so hard to achieve their personal best.  

This week the Year 6 students celebrated the end of their Primary journey, with a Farewell Mass, morning tea with their parents, and this was followed by a pool party.  We wish them every happiness and success as they continue their educational journey in Secondary school.

We are blessed to have an incredibly capable and hard-working Primary team.  Special thanks to every staff member for the work they have done to inspire, support and challenge the students.  I wish all of you a well-earned holiday break.

To our parent community - thank you so much for your support, kindness, and trust throughout the year. May you and your family enjoy the holiday break, filled with all that brings you joy.

To our Principal, Mr Henderson - thank you for all you have shared with our school community over the past 7 years. On behalf of our families, students, and staff, I wish you every happiness in your new role as Principal at Aquinas College. We will miss you!

Companions 2022

An early Christmas present has arrived!  We hope all families enjoying reading ‘Companions 2022’.  This College Magazine was distributed to the youngest student in each family on Wednesday.  Families where the eldest child is in Pre-Kindy, have had their copy mailed to them.

Congratulations to Zari Spiccia who entered the Chevron Focus Environment photography competition and won 2nd prize for her entry and received a gift for herself and for the College also.

Sports Update

I hope you all enjoy a well-earned Christmas break with lots of sporty family fun.   

As always there will be lots of extra-curricular sporting opportunities next year:

• Tennis with Nick Kirkbride for Pre-Primary to Year 6 students on Mondays, College Tennis Courts, 7:30am-8:30am and commences on Monday 6 February. To book and make payment, please enrol at www.coastaltennis.com.au
• Swimming training for Years 3 to 6 students in the College pool on Tuesday and Thursdays, 3:30pm to 4:30pm and commences on 14 February.  No booking or payment required.
• J&J Soccer for Years 1 to 4 on Tuesdays on the Junior Primary Oval, 3:30pm to 4:30pm.  Year 1-4.  Starts Tuesday 13th Feb. Booking and payment required.  To enrol, please email juricadi@hotmail.com
• Basketball with Redhage Basketball for students in Years 2 to 5 on Thursdays in the St Louis Sports Centre, 3:20pm to 4:20pm and commences on Thursday 9 February. To book and make payment please enrol at www.redhagebasketball.com

Primary Music

A big thank you to all students and parents for their dedication to choir and instrumental ensemble rehearsals this year.

Primary choir sign-ups will take place in Week 2 of Term 1, 2023. More information will be included in the first newsletter next year.

Bricks 4 Kidz

We are delighted to announce that Bricks 4 Kidz will be offering the after-school classes in Term 1, 2023.  Lessons will take place on Tuesday afternoons from 3:30pm to 4:50pm for 8 weeks commencing in Week 2 and concluding in Week 9.  Please refer to the attached flyer for further information. 

Please note that there will be a Junior Robotics session for Years 2 & 3 and an Advanced Robotics session for Years 4 to 6.  Year 1 students will be offered the opportunity to participate in Term 2. 

Please note Year 3-6 Swimming Training will also take place on Tuesday afternoons from 3:30pm to 4:30pm during Term 1, 2023.
