From the Principal

Stay awake

It is hard to believe that it is the final week of the school year. Congratulations to all students, staff and families on another excellent year at John XXIII College.

‘Stay awake’ was the sentiment of an Advent reflection I recently read. As Christmas approaches, it is important that ‘we stay alert’ and focus on the joy of the birth of Christ and its significance to our Catholic faith. Christmas is also an important time with family and friends as we celebrate the richness of our lives. It has been a privilege to attend end of year masses across the College over the past few weeks.

Our Council Chair, Dr Courtenay Harris, wrote to families earlier this week announcing the appointment of Ms Shani Andrews as our new Vice Principal. I was delighted to join the Council Chair and our incoming Principal, Mr Daniel Mahon on the appointment panel. Ms Andrews will do an excellent job as Vice Principal.

At the end of each calendar year we farewell some students and staff completing their time at the College. We wish outgoing students well as they move to other schools and we thank them for their contribution to the College.

Congratulations and best wishes to staff leaving at the end of this year:
