News and Reminders:
Take home readers:
We have purchased hundreds of NEW decodable, take home books to support our work on increasing phonemic awareness and phonics in the junior years through Little Learners Love Literacy. These books are currently being covered and catalogued. As such, take home readers are still a couple of weeks away from starting. Stay tuned for updates. In the meantime, we encourage you to read to your child and enable opportunities for them to read for enjoyment.
English Online Interview – Year 1 students:
From 2023, the Department of Education is mandating the administration of the English Online Interview (EOI) for every Year 1 student.
While it has been mandated for Prep students for some time, this is a new requirement for Year 1 government school students to enable teachers to collect data to support them in further developing their literacy skills.
To facilitate this assessment, Year 1 teachers will be released from their classroom for two days in the coming fortnight.
