Principal's Report

This is the final newsletter for the 2021 school year.

This is a good opportunity to thank you all for another fantastic year of ongoing support.  I have always said that we don’t get everything right, but we do our best and are happy to receive respectful feedback on things that can improve!

Year 6 Graduation

It was a pleasure to see our Year 6 students graduate on Monday evening.  This past 2 years of their schooling has been unique to say the least. Parents should be very proud of all that your child has managed to achieve in what has been an incredibly interrupted period. We wish all our Year 6 students the best as they take their next step in their education.

Staffing for 2022

We will be saying goodbye to two fantastic staff members who will be teaching elsewhere in 2022, Jiya Robinson and Sophie Bedford.  Thank you for all of your hard work and care for the LPS kids over the time you have both been here.  We wish you well at your new schools.

Mr Kettle will be returning from leave to come back to LPS.  Many of you will remember Mr Kettle who used to be our PE teacher.  In addition to this, Mrs Dyer (Bozic) & Mrs Darwall will be returning in a part-time capacity.

Mr B has been working tirelessly on classes and these are now complete. We look forward to telling children who their new teacher and classmates are on Monday 13th.

Before and After school care

A reminder that as of 28th January Team Kids will be operating this service.

Once again, I thank Camp Australia (specifically Caitlyn and Stacey) for the work they have done over the past few years with our before and after school care program.

Final School Assembly

We will be holding a final assembly on the last day of school – Friday 17th December at 1.15pm.  Parents are welcome to come along.

We will be announcing our 2022 school captains at this assembly.

We ask that you stand at the back of the assembly area.  Students will be dismissed from the assembly at 1.30pm.

A Special Shout Out

……..to Emma Collins for her wonderful school council efforts this year!

Thank you

To all our staff that work above and beyond to make our school inclusive, respectful, fun, vibrant and a great place to learn!

Mrs Pepper & Mr B for their relentless work in the wellbeing and curriculum areas respectively.

Michelle, Kelly, Isabella and Angela in the office for being the first port of call for many families and keeping me organised!

Brittany, Miss Ryan and Rose for their amazing work helping students overcome difficulties and barriers so they can get the most out of their learning.

Sue Williams has been an extremely valuable fill in for Miss Toates during Terms 3 and 4.  We hope to see Mrs Williams back at LPS in some capacity in the future.

Don’t forget Friday 17th is a 1.30pm finish.

Merry Christmas to all Langwarrin PS families.

I look forward to seeing you all in 2022.

Mark Moorhouse,

Principal
