ROOM 11

Students in Room 11 have had a busy Term 4. Since returning to on-site learning in Week 4, students have been focused on re-establishing connections with staff and peers. Students have enjoyed engaging in social interactions with their peers, engaging in problem-solving in maths and hands on activities such as science experiments, cooking and gardening.

Whilst we have had a fantastic Term 4, we are all ready for a holiday. Room 11 students and staff wish you all a happy and safe holiday season.

Middle Years Sub School News

This week I had the pleasure of attending the the Wakikiri final celebration. It has been fantastic watching the students over the year as they developed confidence through dance and story telling. Catherine and Maddie have worked hard with the students to create props, choose music, create a storyline and then put it all together to create an amazing video clip.

The students have learnt all about hip hop dance. They have learnt many different poses and like to experiment with their own movements. Today they danced to the MIB sound track following Maddie’s instructions to slide, bounce, walk the dog and strut. Students very quickly learnt the moves and then made them their own.

The classes have been celebrating 2021 in their rooms. There have been many parties and opportunities to look back on the things they have done this year. Students are very excited about getting into their new classes and for some their new sub school. Staff are getting ready for transition week and look forward to meeting their new students.

On Wednesday our Grade Six students celebrated their graduation. The students who graduated were

  • Rehan B
  • Caglar C
  • Ethan C
  • Michelle C
  • Brian F
  • Edward H
  • Joshua M
  • Saviour P
  • Ryan S
  • Patrick Z

The students and staff enjoyed a meal in the staffroom before they got to try on their graduation gowns, caps and sashes. Students were very excited while doing this and staff took many photos. The ceremony started with a slide show showing the students with different photos from when they started to more recent photos.

The John Edmonds Memorial Scholarships was awarded to two very deserving recipients.

Michelle C received it for showing improvement in the classroom, being engaged and communicating more with students.

Ethan C received it for always being helpful in the classroom, being able to voice his ideas and looking after his friends.

Well done Michelle and Ethan.

Students received their graduation certificate from Corinne and a gift from the school. Lots of photos were taken. The students looked amazing and so happy. There were plenty of tears in the audience and lots of laughs. Overall the evening was a great success.
