Room 2

Last week Room 2 had a special celebration time. The class reflected on the year and celebrated Rachael’s final day in the classroom, and celebrated the Christmas season. Staff supported students to make their own decorations, and students enthusiastically decorated the classroom Christmas tree. There was special food, including hot chips and fruit. There were games, party hats and toys to play with during the celebration. Congratulations to the students in Room 2 who have been learning what happens during a ‘party.’  All the students in Room 2 were able to engage and participate in the celebration.

Primary Sub School News

Our Primary Sub School have enjoyed meeting for assembly via WebEx at school. Each classroom has been able to access the Primary assembly and safely meet together every Thursday morning.

Our assembly includes:

  • The National Anthem
  • An acknowledgement of Country
  • Dancing and Singing
  • “Star of the Week” awards
  • Relaxation time

It has been a great way to come together and share some experiences of the week, and acknowledge students who have worked well throughout the week in various subject areas.

Students have also enjoyed some sunshine outside, while remembering to be Sunsmart by wearing their hats, and applying sunscreen. Students have also been learning that the changing weather can mean we often take our jumpers off as the day warms up. Well done to our primary students for learning to be Sunsmart and look after ourselves in the sun.

This week, Room 9 had a very exciting Zoom call with some students in Japan! We learnt to say ‘Kon’nichiwa’ which is ‘Hello’ in Japanese and ‘Arigato’ which means ‘Thank you’. The students in Japan showed us some traditional Japanese games and we did our Christmas dance routine for them. We played ‘Rock … Paper … Scissors’ against each other… it was so much fun! We loved making friends with the students and learning all about them.
