From the Principal

We would like to acknowledge the original custodians of this land

and pay our respects to the Elders past and present and emerging,

for they hold the memories, the traditions, the culture and hopes of Indigenous Australia.

Curriculum Day

Monday 29th November is our curriculum planning day for 2022.  This will allow all staff to review the curriculum and then plan the for 2022.  This is a school closure day for students. Please note that OHSC will be available.

Staff News

We would like to congratulation Linzi Canavan and her partner Cathel on the arrival of their beautiful baby boy Tadhg.  May your new family be blessed with good health, love and joy.  Let this be the beginning of a wonderful journey together.

Traffic Concerns

The staff and parents are concerned about the number of cars doing U-Turns directly in front of the drop-off along Neerim Road.  This week there was a near collision with luckily no accident but in the safety of all people concerned if you do need to make a U-Turn please do this away from the school area.  Time is precious for everyone but our lives are more important.   All parents are asked to model the example of using the traffic lights at Neerim and Grange Roads.

Concessional Fees Policy

The MACS (Melbourne Archdiocese Catholic Schools) Board has approved the concessional fee policy to provide fee concessions across all MACS primary schools.

Eligibility for Concessional School Fees includes:

  • Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander heritage
  • Holding a health care card and eligible for CSEF
  • Family experiencing severe financial hardship
  • Family holding a DVA Gold Card
  • Any family identified as refugees and holding an ImmiCard

In 2022 the school fees payable for eligible students are:

  • 1 child – $15 per child per week, direct debit ($780 per annum)
  • 2 children – $23 for the family per week, direct debit ($1,196 per annum)
  • 3 + children – $30 for the family per week, direct debit ($1,560 per annum)

Qualifying families are required to enter a direct debit arrangement with the school.

An application form for concessional fees should be submitted together with an application for the Camps, Sports and Excursions Fund (CSEF). The forms will be available from the school office at the beginning of 2022.

Face Masks

Students in Years 3-6 are required to wear face masks when indoors. The school has some available for emergency use however families are responsible for providing masks for their children.

Swimming Program

Swimming lessons for all students will take place from 22nd - 26th November. The cost of the lessons has been included in your school levies this year but due to the amended program families in Years P-2 will receive a rebate of $35.50 per child and families in Years 3-6 will receive a rebate of $30.00 per child. The rebate will be credited to your account for 2022.  Families who are leaving the school will receive a refund.

Sincerely yours

Margaret Carlei
