School Highlights

100 days of Prep

Check out these cuties! On 3 August, we celebrated 100 days of Prep with a dress-up, and a special certificate for each student. Congratulations to our students, teachers and parents for achieving such a wonderful milestone!

Junior School Olympics

Our Junior School students are currently participating in their own version of the Olympics! Each Prep to Year 6 student has been placed into one of eight countries and they are being awarded medals for their country throughout the two weeks that the Summer Olympics are on.

Gold, silver and bronze medals (stickers) are awarded by their teachers for excellence with their work or displaying character traits such as effort, diligence, perseverance and resilience.

Students add their 'medal' to the class table, and these are tallied by Mr Bustin to produce a live leaderboard (Japan is currently in the lead with 12 gold medals). On Friday last week, the students even held an opening ceremony!

RoboCup SPIKE Prime Competition

Congratulations to the Junior School Robotics Club who entered the RoboCup SPIKE Prime competition with our brand new Spike Prime robots last term and achieved some fantastic results.

Remote learning in Year 8 Food Technology

Donna O'Callaghan, Food Technology and Health and Human

Development Teacher

During remote learning, students have been encouraged to cook along with me via Teams. Students have enjoyed preparing, food styling and photographing their work. Of course, eating it as well!

The scones were fun to make, and they also turned out well, so I think this was a great first experience, especially considering we were in lockdown.

Declan McManamny

I quite enjoyed making the scones,. It was a difficult experience because I am pretty mediocre at cooking, but these classes have definitely helped and the scones were probably my personal favourite so far.

Claire Yu

I really enjoyed making scones in Food Tech. It was a really good distraction from all the academic work we had to do in our other classes. Although it was online, our Food Tech teacher, Ms O’Callaghan, still did a great demonstration that was easy to follow. My family and I really liked the final product, and it is definitely something that is quick and easy to make and enjoy.

Caleb Mendez

I thoroughly enjoyed making these scones. I don’t cook much at home, but I had fun making them. At first, it was difficult to lessen the stickiness of the dough, but our teacher's tip on flouring the board helped me. Thank you for the lesson and I’m looking forward to Food Tech in the Kilvington kitchens!
