IPS PICNIC - PARENT BAND ARE PLAYING!

Many thanks to the parents, students and ex-students who attended the first rehearsal for the picnic band last Thursday evening. It was a hoot! We only have two rehearsals and could be a little rusty on Friday. I expect it will be very entertaining. I’m looking forward to having fun playing along and meeting our school community.

Strings!

Rehearsals are going well.  I really enjoy seeing cheerful faces at the gate in the mornings!

Students are to be dropped off at the hall side gate in Ailsa Grove. If the gate is locked enter via the OSHC gate.

It takes a little while to set up, tune up and get ready for the rehearsals, so we ask that students arrive at these times:

Mondays:  Start Up Strings – 8.10am

Tuesdays:   Choir (starting after the school picnic in week 4) 8am.

Wednesdays: Orchestra 7.50am

Thursdays:  Start Up Strings 8.10am

Fridays:  Corelli Strings 8.05am

Many thanks to Liz Bonetti and the Strings staff for their organisation and management of our fantastic strings program.

Choir

I will start choir next week. To be covid safe we need to have the bi fold doors of the music room open.  We will begin at 8am. I can’t  be at the gate and monitor the room on my own so please enter via the OSHC gate.

I will prepare a note for Monday. Please return it as you come to choir.

Australian Sign Language Leaders (Auslan)

Our Auslan leaders are rehearsed and ready to perform at the assembly on Monday.

These students have given up half their recess times each day to practice. My sincere thanks to those involved.

Yours in Music,
