Library
Welcome to a new and exciting year from CHS Library. There is a lot happening here in the library this year, some which have already occurred. So let’s go…
First of all I would like to welcome back my two Library Assistants, Nicole D and Althea R. I look forward to working with you both again this year.
There is a new circulation desk, Librarian Island, in the middle of the library which has your librarian overflowing with joy. It has also provided relief and happiness to the IT team as well…
Events
Now to the 2021 library events. There are a few this year including one which happened this week. Blind Date With a Book was a huge success with students descending upon the library during lunch to choose a mystery book. It was like Christmas morning when the unwrapping began all at the same time. What a joy to witness so many students’ enthusiasm for literature.
The monthly Library Trivia Master begins again in March with all new challenges for those who dare to solve the mystery.
There will also be a new fundraising event for the library beginning at the end of March, just in time for the school holidays before finishing at the end of the September school holidays. It is the CHS Reads: Book Bingo, a reading challenge designed to raise funds for new books and equipment for the library to ensure an exceptional reading culture here at Coburg High. I am very excited about this and hope that our current and very enthusiastic library visitors will take on the challenge with gusto and read their little hearts out for a very good cause.
Well, that’s it for now but as per usual, there is always more on the horizon here at Coburg High Library. That is for another newsletter though...
Laptop Charging
Laptop charging is now at Librarian Island after moving from the IT department where it has been operating up until now. If you require charging of your laptop, please see the librarian at her desk and she will gladly put your laptop on charge if you ask politely.
