Junior House Swimming Carnival

On the 4th of February, Vermont Secondary College attended the Croydon Memorial Pool for the Annual Junior House Swimming Carnival. The day is a moment in time where we can all come together and celebrate what a great community we are. It was a swimming success with over 600 students and 44 staff enjoying the day in the pool.

Whilst no previous records were broken, the day was filled with fun, colour and laughter with many students competing in multiple events, cheering on their friends, competing in the House challenges and lapping up some sun by the leisure pool.

The best form groups by year with participation and points were awarded to 7H3, 8H4 and 9S2. Congratulations on the classy effort.

Junior House Champions were Stirling, Hotham and Macedon and the Senior House champions were Stirling, Macedon and Hotham respectively.

Congratulations to Stirling for the tremendous effort on the day to take out first place overall.

Point were as follows:

1st Stirling – 868 points

2nd Macedon – 664 points

3rd Hotham – 649 points

It takes a lot of early mornings and hard work to become a great swimmer, so a big congratulations must go to the following age group champions:

Celine S, Will S, Annika T, Alfred Z, Lucy W, Kian C, Mackenzie E, India J and Edward C.

These community events do not happen without the generosity and energy of all involved. A special thanks must go to all the staff that attended the swimming carnival and made it swimming success. Also, a big thank you to everyone who helped back at school covering classes, marking rolls, loading buses and all the other bits and bobs that make the cogs turn. The VSC community really appreciates it.
