From the Acting Principal

Hi everyone,

We are excitedly heading towards the end of 2022! There is so much to be excited about and many events to celebrate as we close out an amazing year here at school.

Our Year Six students have returned from camp in Canberra where they had wonderful new experiences. Our Year Two students have had a night sleeping at school. For some students this was the first night away from home, so the excitement levels were high.

Thank you to the staff who attended these events, taking personal time to ensure our students had a wonderful time. Thank you, also, to the parents who attended camp. We really appreciate the additional time taken to attend these events with the students.

We will have our first whole-school transition session today, with students from Foundation to Year Five meeting their new classmates and teachers for 2023. We will have another session on December 13 and an informal 2023 class get-together in the last few days of the term.  All of our new and returning teachers will be here for at least one of the two main sessions, however there are a few that will not be able to attend both. We are still in the process of recruiting one more teacher to join our team in 2023 but, whilst they will not be able to attend this week, our hope is that they will be in place for the 13th.

We are looking forward to the Trivia Night this Saturday. Our students, and Mrs Tate, have been working hard on creating some amazing artwork which we will silent-auction at the event. There is one piece per year level and they are stunning! If you wish to put a bid in prior to the auction, please see the Compass notification for instructions or pop into the office to place a bid. The artwork can be viewed on the school's Facebook page or in person at the office.

We also have some farewell celebrations coming up in the coming weeks and we would like to invite the community to come and help us celebrate.

On December 14 we will hold a farewell assembly and afternoon tea for Glenda Harry to say thank you for her time here as Principal. The assembly will start at 2:30pm, followed by afternoon tea at 3:30pm.

On December 16, we will hold a farewell assembly and afternoon tea to celebrate the retirement of Susan Berkeley. The assembly will start at 2:45pm, followed by afternoon tea at 3:30pm in the Grove (weather permitting). Susan has been instrumental in our garden program, which she has run for 18 years.

Thanks everyone for your ongoing support,

Michelle
