Performing Arts Co-Curricular Program

As the terms nears mid-way all our CMS students and ensembles are preparing for our end of year Performing Arts Co-curricular Showcase. The Showcase will take place in the O'Neill Auditorium on Thursday 1 December from 7- 8pm. There is no charge for entry and all are welcome. There is no need to book, and the doors will open at 7pm. The finale will be a performance of the final song from Omori, with every student in the Performing Arts ensembles singing or playing. This arrangement has been workshopped with students from the various ensembles. We thank them for their collaborative efforts and look forward to presenting this work.

We will present a Matinee to students from St Paul's Catholic Primary School the day prior. This concert serves as a dress rehearsal for our students, giving them the opportunity to practise in the performance space before the big night.

Gospel Choir is also preparing to provide reflective music at the Year 12 Graduation Mass, and the Marian College Choir will be preparing some carols to support the Year 7-9 End of Year Mass.

We wish the senior members of our student body all the very best as they embark on their final assessments. We especially thank and farewell our Performing Arts Captain, Cynthia Negash. Cynthia has been a passionate supporter of the Performing Arts since first arriving at Marian College, and combines her love of the arts with care for other people, animals, and the environment. We know that Cynthia will carry these Marian qualities into her future, and we hope to see her as a guest performer in a future performance!

We also farewell Year 12 Gospel Choir students Caroline Iousa, Tessa Alaimalo, Stephanie Fautuaalii, Teuila Iose, Caroline Iousa, and Sefulu Leota-Seiuli Seufatu. These girls have been part of the Gospel Choir throughout their time at Marian, and we wish them well.
