Principal's Message
Mrs Kaileen Carr
I was so proud of all our school captain nominees when they presented their speeches on Tuesday. All the nominees did a fabulous job which made it a hard choice when the students were voting. I would like to congratulate Archie Stafford and Mia Coleman who will be our 2023 School Captains and Logan Campbell and Willow Ruddick Vice Captains. I am looking forward to working with the leadership team in 2023.
Home Reading - Home reading will finish at the end of this week. Please return all books in preparation for stock take. Thank you to all our wonderful volunteers who have supported this very important program to run.
National Championships - I tried my best but came away with 8th overall. That got me a Finalist ribbon too. I was short of my PB by 10cm but it was an amazing experience to be in Brisbane and meet athletes from all over Australia.
The whole week was amazing Thursday was the opening ceremony and I got to walk the track with the whole NSW team and all the other kids from across Australia. Friday was the first day of competition and I got to cheer on everyone that was competing including my mate Savanah from Bathurst South who won Gold in Shotput. Saturday night was my high jump event. I was up against kids from NSW, QLD, VIC, SA, ACT & TAS. Sunday was an excursion day and I got to meet Kelsey-Lee Barber. She is a 2 time World Champion & Olympic medalist in Javelin. Monday we have a State Challenge day and I get to do an 80m team shuttle race and Long Jump. Its a fun day to earn points for an overall best State winner.
I just wanted to say Thank you so much to you and everyone from Eglinton PS. Its been such a great experience.
