2023 Service Learning Experience

In the September school holidays we are planning a 9 day service learning trip to Central Australia. Students in Years 6 to10 were given a brief overview of this unique learning opportunity in chapel service or Christian Education classes this week and were invited to take an information sheet. Students interested in participating in this camping trek are to email Rev. Paul Yarrow at pyarrow@clayfield.qld.edu.au by next Monday 21 November expressing their interest in being involved. An information evening is planned for parent/carers and students at 6:00 pm on Wednesday 30 November in the chapel. An information sheet can be accessed below. Please contact Rev. Primary Gallery Walks 

Gallery walks give students the opportunity to showcase their Semester 2 Learning to their parents in the classroom environment. Parents are invited to Class Gallery Walks as per the following schedule: 

 

Week 8

Tuesday 22 November

Year 6 Gallery Walk: 2:20 pm - 3:10 pm 

 

Thursday 24 November

Year 3 Gallery Walk: 2:20 pm – 3:10 pm 

Year 2 Gallery Walk: 2:20 pm – 3:10 pm

2023 Resources (Booklists) 

If you have not already done so, please refer to communication and requirements for 2023 Resources, which was emailed to parents on the 10 November from Mrs. Miranda Cavaliere. 

 

Please note that orders placed by Wednesday 7 December will be delivered in the fortnight ending Friday 13 January.  Orders can be placed after this date however they will incur additional changes.

 

End of Year Class parties

Primary classes will have their end of year celebrations on Thursday 1 December. Please look out for correspondence from your child’s classroom teacher with further details.

 

Primary Captains / House Leaders / Sports Captains 2023

Year 5 students who have nominated for a Primary Captain or House Captain Leadership position have presented speeches to the primary school students and voting has taken place. Year 5 students who have nominated for a Sports Captain position will meet with Mrs. Bryan and Mrs. Richardson for a short interview on Monday 21 November. The successful applicants will be announced at Primary Presentation Day on Friday 2 December. We wish all students the very best in their quest for a leadership position.

 

Year 6 Celebration and Function

On Friday 25 November, Year 6 students and parents/caregivers have been invited to an end of year Celebration and Function commencing at 5:00 pm in the Chapel. All Year 6 students are to assemble in the rose garden near Circular Drive at 4:45 pm. Please ensure your sons/daughters are wearing their formal uniform for this special occasion. 

 

Primary Presentation Day – Friday 2 December 2022

An invitation for Primary Presentation Day was emailed and published in the Clayfield College App to Parents (Pre-Prep to Year 6) on Wednesday 16 November.

 

Primary Presentation Day is a celebration of our students’ leaning and personal growth over the school year. We will reflect on the year, with memories shared from Pre-Prep to Year 6, enjoy performances from our music ensembles and students, and acknowledge individual students’ achievements.

 

All Students are to wear their formal school uniform.

 

Please note:      RSVP by Friday 25 November via RSVP button on the invitation
                              Maximum 2 members per family to attend
                              Attendance is strictly by invitation and RSVP

 

Final Day Arrangements – Friday 2/12

School will finish for the year for all students (Pre-Prep to Year 11), on Friday 2 December at 12:00 pm.

 

Pre-prep to Year 6 Parents attending the Primary Presentation are welcome to take their children at the conclusion of the event, with notification to their teacher.

 

Remaining students will stay with their teachers with the following arrangements:

  • Pre-Prep students’ collection from classroom 12:00 pm
  • Prep to Year 6 students’ collection from Circular Drive 12:00 pm
