Our Around the World Fete

On Friday 4th November, NMPS had the pleasure of holding our Community School Fete ‘Around the World’.

It was so wonderful to see so many of our students, families, and the wider community, coming together to partake in the night.  The evening would not have been made possible without the preparation and organisation from our School’s Parents and Friends Committee, coordinating every detail of the night from the rides, performance, and student stalls to donations and volunteers…. and everything in between.

The afternoon was proudly opened by a few of our School Leaders, acknowledging our traditional owners of the land and revealing our new school flags. Followed by a variety of traditional performances that had our families shaking and moving to the tunes.

Our family-run food stalls were a hit, which was no surprise. Families came together on the day to prepare and cook their cultural delicacies in the food hall to make our ‘Around the World’ Fete a true around-the-world representation.  Our bake sale is always a winner, allowing us to indulge in all our guilty bake pleasures.

Speaking to our students and hearing their excitement, the rides and petting zoo was a crowd favourite, relishing in the jumps and bumps of the inflatables and meeting and feeding the tiny 2-week-old piglets.

Our student stalls were always bustling. The never-ending lines at our fairy floss, face-painting, second hand and gardening/craft stalls and our student games kept everyone entertained well into the night… especially our volunteers.

Our silent auction, whilst one of the quietest activities proved to be very successful! Well done to those lucky winners.

This event was truly a remarkable opportunity for our families to reunite since our last Fete in 2018, and once again, we thank the teams of people who turned the night into such a success!
