Principal's Report

From Christian's desk....

End of Term 1:30pm tomorrow

A reminder that students are dismissed at 1:30pm tomorrow. Students will be dismissed in the same fashion they have been during the last couple of weeks. Please remind your children of your family’s exit plan.

On behalf of the school community I wish everyone well for a safe, happy and healthy school holidays.

Showbag Sales and Dress Up Day tomorrow

Don’t forget to bring your pocket money tomorrow!

Students are welcome to bring some pocket money to purchase a (Fair) Showbag. Prices range between $3 - $5. Showbags will be sold from the Canteen courtyard with classes rostered to visit the stall.

It’s also Free Dress Day. Participants are asked to bring a gold coin donation that will go to State Schools' Relief, an organisation that helps with the cost of new school uniforms, shoes and other essential items for families who are facing hardship.

A Thank-you from Croydon Hills

Today our staff were treated to morning cuppa as an acknowledgement for all of their hard work over the term. Second only to our students, our staff are our school’s most valuable asset. In short, this was the least we could do to show our appreciation!

Thank you to School Council President, Sian Jamison and CHAPS' Danielle Bell for organising the van.  Moreover, thanks to Theo from cino2go!  This was Theo’s first booking in three and a half months.  To book please call Theo on 0412 707 737.

Prep Information Evening

Last night Carol Wyatt, Amy Prior, Kristy Sotiropoulos and I hosted the 2021 Prep Information Evening.  The virtual event was well attended with over 70 screens active. We have a second (repeat), session scheduled for families on July 15th. To be included, families are asked to complete an enquiry on the Enrolments page of our school website.

As we shared at the information evening, our school accepts 105 Prep enrolments per year. We encourage current families with siblings and families that are committed to enrolling at Croydon Hills to submit their enrolment form immediately as places are becoming limited.  The DET has requested all families have their enrolment application to their school of choice by August 7th. Confirmation of placement will be communicated by  August 21st.

COVID-19 Re-entry Plan: Update

There is no update to the school’s COVID-19 Re-entry Plan

At this stage we will begin next term under the same protocols that are currently articulated in the school’s COVID-19 Re-entry Plan. I will communicate with the school community on Thursday July 9th if there are any changes - please keep an eye on Compass.

School Signage

You will possibly have noticed that much of the signage around the school has been updated, particularly around access points.  These new signs reflect the school's arrangements for student drop-off and pick-up, school policy on visitor access and feature our acknowledgement of country and the traditional owners of the land on which our school is built.

We have also found it necessary to include signage about cleaning up after our canine family members.  In past weeks, a number of dog-walkers have failed to "do the right thing" for our school grounds and community.
