Prayer Formation-

Prayer is an encounter with God. Prayer is “a vital and personal relationship with the living and true God” (United States Catholic Catechism for Adults, p. 463). God calls us to a relationship and encounter. Prayer is dialogue and we often see it in many forms.

Our Spiritual Leader Pope Francis asks us to 'Never abandon prayer even when it seems pointless to pray".

Have you ever asked yourself... Why do you pray?

What types of prayers do you recite?  Are prayers considered traditional forms of prayer? Is meditation a form of prayer?

No matter what the answer may be when time is taken out of our busy life and we stop for a moment, we may be engaging in prayer and encountering into dialogue with God.

There are many ways to offer our prayers. We come to God in prayer, seeking His presence as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit the embrace that knows no time and never lets go. As we pray the Our Father, we join with Jesus in praying to the God and Father of all. When we pray the Scriptures, we are deepening our relationship with God. The Scriptures enable us to hear God’s call, leaving us keenly aware of God’s ongoing faithfulness to us.  When we participate in the Eucharist we are giving thanks and being present with God. Sometimes as we pray we may seek signs and wonders to confirm that God is with us.

Reflective Prayer: Mercy and the Degradation of Earth

Adele Howard rsm (ISMAPNG): 'Everything is Connected'

The reflective prayer shared with you was created by Adele Howard, music, and editing by Liam Gubbins (Damian Howard's Sister & Nephew)

This lovely prayer asks us to reflect and pray together, as we continue to struggle with the shared global experience of the illness and destructive action of the COVID-19 pandemic.
