Chaplain’s Spot

“eSafety”

Everybody needs to feel safe. We all deserve to be kept safe. However, there are many ways in which we can be vulnerable, and taken advantage of, especially online. The eSafety Commissioner website has a great number of helpful resources for educators, kids, youth, parents, and seniors.

Topics include ‘the Big Issues’, ‘Hard-to-have conversations’, Webinars, ‘Under-5’s safety booklet, and a whole lot more.

This is a very helpful website for parents who want to receive the best possible help in supporting our young people online.

Quotes of the week

Fathers’ Day will be next month, which I always enjoy, being a father, and a grandfather. The booklet to the right is a great book of tips for fathers and father-figures who want to be the best they can be. I have 18 booklets. Please email me if you would like one, and we can arrange appropriate delivery/pick-up!

Here is another of my photos. I was 15, my sister 11, and my brother 8. We were standing on the front steps of our house in Morwell. I was wearing my school social ‘reefer jacket’. Our red hair sure did shine in the bright sun!

There are many wonderful Irish Blessings. A blessing such as this, is like another way to wish safety and wellbeing on another person. May you take from this blessing what you need the most.

Remember, you can send me an email, phone me at school, or send a carrier pigeon … well maybe not the last option, if you would like to chat about anything that’s happening in your life … or even the world!
