Stage 4 lockdown

As a community we all have a role to play in suppressing the spread of the virus and to be an example for our students. As hard as this lockdown is, we have to figure out ways to get through.

In our staff briefing this week we talked about what we are doing to bring joy into our lives. There were some great examples shared.

What are you doing to survive?

Music is around to fill our ears with joy - one example - The Sound on ABC. There is comedy and live theatre if you search online.

There are so many things that our families will be doing to get through, staying connected continues to be vital for all of us.

We hold you all close in our thoughts, be safe, be well and stay home for all of us.

Farewell

This week we farewell Sarah Amiconi as she heads off to have her second child. Thank you to Sarah for all of her work as part of the Foundation Team and leader of Transition since her return to BPPS. We wish her, Warwick and Jack all the best for the safe arrival of their new family member. We cannot wait to hear the news!

We welcome Claire Brennan back to BPPS, she will be taking over in FGA working with Carli Greenwood. Claire returns from family leave and has been a part of the BPPS staff for many years. We are excited to have her back on staff.

Remote Learning

As we have moved back to remote learning for all of Term 3 we thank those parents who have reached out with feedback around changes that have been made. As the term continues there will be opportunities to provide more feedback.

Don't forget to make contact if you need assistance with technology - we have support available. Email - itsupport@bpark.vic.edu.au

Lockdown gates

We wanted to let you know we have locked the school grounds and all pedestrian gates on the school property. The carpark gates are open but we are restricting access to the school grounds - as per Department guidelines. Since we returned this term all areas of the school grounds have been off limits to the public, however we have had issues with people on the property on the weekends and in the evenings, the police have been patrolling because of anti-social behaviour. If you are walking past the school and see anyone on the property who is not a member of staff we would ask that you call the police.

Well being resources for parents and carers

Included again for your information - Remote and flexible learning can be challenging for both students and parents.

Being well and keep us all well

If you or your child has a fever, shortness of breath, or flu-like symptoms such as a cough, sore throat or runny nose then get a Covid test.

We have heard all of the messages from the health authorities regarding Covid-19. Our aim now is to stay focused. As a community we can protect each other and support each other by following the rules. You will not be surprised to know I am a rules person, lots of teachers are.

  • Wear a face mask
  • Practise good hygiene.
  • Maintain physical distancing, keep at least 1.5 metres away from others.
  • Understand the risk and symptoms.
  • Help continue to slow the spread of coronavirus (COVID-19) by getting tested, even if you have mild symptoms.
  • Stay home and avoid contact if you’re feeling unwell.
  • Take care wherever you go, assume others may be carrying the virus.

Please take care.
