Bored? - Never

Cobie and Tarni Ralis don’t need to worry about getting bored during isolation.

They’ve been building their very own BMX track. Here they are testing it out.

I am strong and brave

I wonder what would have happened if I did not get framed

I hear the sound of jail doors locking

I see jail bars strong and shiny

I want to get out of this place

I am strong and brave

I pretend that I’m still boxing

I feel shattered that I can’t be boxing as a pro

I touch the shiny metal and wonder how can I get out of here

I worry that I will never get out

I cry that I’ll be stuck here forever

I am strong and brave

I understand that I was framed

I say it wasn’t me

I dream of the boxing ring and me inside it

I try to clear my name

I hope that they will free me

I am strong and brave

My Favourite Place

Choosing my favourite place was a bit difficult but I came around to decide to write about the beach. My family did not really go to the beach much before the pandemic. Although when we did our whole family were having the time of our lives. We would always choose to go on a really nice day when the weather was perfect.

The warm sand squelched between my toes and there was squawking seagulls everywhere you looked, begging for food or just waiting for the right moment to steal something. We would place our towels in a quiet spot on the beach and our little beach tent for some shade and a snack.

The waves sailed towards the beach shore creating a white foam. The water was cold but refreshing on a hot day. My Mum would not go deep into the water and would stay with my two younger siblings as my Dad, me and my brother would go deeper into the water until our feet barely didn’t reach the sand. Sometimes though, you would get seaweed clinging to your feet.

I really look forward to when the pandemic is over as my family and my dog will be able to go to the beach. I think my dog will really enjoy it as he has never been to the beach before, and has already shown interest in the water, although he still does not like baths just like a normal dog.
