Principal's Notes

Hi everyone

Thank you to each of you for the remarkable results being achieved by our school community as we continue with remote learning. The innovation demonstrated, the connections between staff, students and parents and the support and goodwill being offered by all and to all has been nothing short of amazing. Congratulations everyone!

Be kind to yourself, get your hour of exercise each day (walk, jog, ride your bike) and take care.

I hope you enjoy today’s edition of ‘Healesville High Connections’. Congratulations to this week’s stars – Aemelia, Harmony, Cobie and Issy and congratulations also to Ettie, who appears in the ‘Hidden talent’ section. I really enjoy the personal insights offered by students and staff members, through their responses to the five questions and in the various articles. It was especially interesting to read about a very young David Lloyd.

As I enjoy reading the personal insights from others every week in Connections, Karyn Adams from the general office thought it only fair that I show you what an average workday for me looks like at the moment. So Karyn, here’s my average day!

Regular exercise is non-negotiable so I get out of the house at 5.30 each morning for an hour-long walk.

After that it’s a normal day at work – not really ‘normal’ because we’d usually have up to 500 people on-site daily, currently it’s me and four other people so five in total. There is plenty to do so the day passes quickly and then my daughters and I have a light exercise and weight training session (more fun than weight training really) in our ‘garage/gym’. Then dinner/TV/maybe a little remote learning support for the girls/sleep-repeat!

Enjoy this edition of “Connections’ and please stay safe.

Kind regards

Allan Rennick
