sports Day

Sports Day

Just one more sleep! One of the great joys of Sports Day is that it brings together our community.

We welcomeone guest per familyto the event and encourage parents or grandparents to 'tag team' throughout the morning.  Pre-school siblings under the care of the parent attending are more than welcome also.

School children are to arrive at school at the normal time.  The school day ends at approximately 12.30pm.

  •  A sausage sizzle (cash only) and coffee van will be available throughout the morning for visitors.
  • All children are to be picked up at the end of events as no classes are held in the afternoon.
  • Children remaining at school will be taken to OSHC.
  • The after school bus services will run at the usual time. (Please inform the front office if your child will be using the bus service on the day).

Sports Day Canteen

The canteen will be open at recess (cash only).

Pre-ordered showdown donuts will be distributed to classes.

A sausage sizzle will be available throughout the morning (cash only).

A COVID safe Sports Day

As previously shared, Sports Day is being offered on Friday following a thorough assessment of risk and benefit.  The sense that we all desire a taste of ‘community’ is considered a greater need than the potential for COVID-19 community spread.

Having had no active student cases for several days, we can be confident that spread of the virus among children is extremely low. Teachers are testing and isolating strictly in line with SA Health guidelines. The greatest risk of spread on Friday is from the parent body where we know cases continue to develop.

I appeal to parents wanting to attend the day…

  • Please do not attend if you are experiencing any COVID type symptoms, no matter how mild;
  • observe strictly the 1 guest per family cap placed on visitor numbers;
  • do your best to manage physical distancing;
  • enjoy spectating the events but refrain from close interaction with your child or their class;
  • wear a mask if you are comfortable doing so; and
  • remain outdoors at all times with the exception of toilet facilities which will be available (including the toilet under the Foundation verandah).

We value very much this opportunity to ‘feel community’ in a tangible way.  A responsible approach from all will ensure our event is a safe one.
