Cross Country Wrap Up

As you know our Cross Country was postponed from last term (seems to be a yearly occurrence 😊), with our students competing last week! It was so great to have parents and grandparents back in the fold supporting their loved ones. All of the students showed great resilience and competed showing great sportsmanship, cheering on their peers to get them across the line. We will be announcing the winning house on assembly this week, so I will not ruin the surprise for the students in the newsletter. Congratulations to all of the age champions and to all who competed!

Soccer and Netball were a little more successful with one win and a loss each. We are looking forward to this Friday and competing again, giving our best as always!

Yr. 6 Camp – 10th May to 13th May

The Yr. 6 camp is fast approaching with students departing on Tuesday 10th May!! If your child will be attending the camp, you should have returned the parent permission form with the final instalment due on Friday the 6th of May. Any final permission forms, dietary forms etc. will be sent home shortly. If you would like for your child to attend, but are experiencing financial difficulty, please contact the office to discuss some options in order for your child to attend.

2023 Prep Enrolment

We are now taking Prep enrolments in readiness for compulsory interviews in July. It would be greatly appreciated if you, or someone you know intends on sending their child to PBSS in 2023, to collect an enrolment pack from the school office.

This year Palm Beach SS will take an out of catchment list for parents who may like to send their child to Palm Beach, but do not reside in the catchment area.  Interested parents need to call the school office on 5520 8333.

Prep Newspaper Photo Opportunity

Each year the Gold Coast Bulletin run a special lift-out publication called ‘My First Year’ which will be published on May 25th this year.

This project will feature a classroom group photo of each prep year class and means parents and schools can get a special keepsake of their child’s first school year!

Each Prep class at PBSS will have their photo taken on Wednesday 4th May and this will be published along with their name in the Gold Coast Bulletin.

If you do not wish for your child to participate in this photo opportunity and have their first name printed in the paper, please inform your child’s class teacher ASAP.

Free Prep Vision Testing

The Primary School Nurse Health Readiness Program will be screening at PBSS on Wednesday, 18 May.  This program is a Queensland Government service that offers Free Vision Screening to all children enrolled in Prep.
