Careers

Careers staff wish everyone a very restful term break.
Holidays are often a great time to review future options and plan for pathways post Aitken. If you are in Year 11 you can revisit the career exploration work we undertook with you in Year 10. If you are in Year 12, you can revise the information presented to you in Life Skills classes this term. If you already have a good idea about your field of interest or even a specific career path in mind, you can use the myfuture and VTAC websites to further explore your career and course options. If you are still unsure of your direction, myfuture allows you to undertake a career quiz and provides job suggestions at the conclusion. If there is a subject you enjoy and / or are good at, the Career Bullseye posters on the myfuture website can be useful and assist with career exploration. You can also read current and archived copies of the Careers newsletter on the myAitken site.
In addition, there are opportunities to attend school holiday workshops, seminars and / or campus tours at tertiary institutions during the term break. The VCE and Careers Expo will take place late in April and is another good opportunity to undertake some career and course exploration.
Careers staff will look forward to more conversations with you once Term 2 commences. We are also excited to be meeting Year 10 students in their Life Skills classes during Term 2. More information to follow.
Happy Easter from B21!
