A Big Thank-you

Hello Families,

Welcome to the first newsletter of 2022! 

We made it through Term 1 (just), on behalf of myself and the whole team at Haven Early Learning we cant express our thanks and gratitude enough for always being there to support us, respecting our team, entrusting your children with us each day and demonstrating what a strong community we have built here at Haven. In some of our hardest days the support, generosity and relationships we have with all the families and children has not gone un-noticed and allows Haven to continue to be a place of kindness, joy and security. 

As I settle into this role of Director a special thankyou of appreciation to all your kind words and support throughout this term. I am excited to see what can be achieved in this role and be there to continue to support families, staff, children and the service as whole.

Term 1 Achievements

2022 has seen us welcome many new faces to Haven and I wanted to express a big welcome to all new and returning families for the year. We appreciate all the reviews and referrals to the local community about how much you love Haven.

It is so amazing to see our community here at Haven grow and we look forward to seeing the learning children will achieve this year.

As the children settled into their new rooms we have been amazed at how well they all transitioned and began to feel a sense of security within their new room and build relationships with the educators. During times of transition there is always going to be some tough days but 

• Our River Room is so at capacity for majority of the week and it has been amazing to see how quickly children settled into care and the connections that have been built with families and educators. This age group is 0-2 years, it amazes me how flexible the team are to meet all children's routines and create engaging experiences for the different age groups.
• Our Sun Room is the busiest it has ever been and continues to flourish each week. The team have committed to creating engaging learning experiences both indoors and outdoors and run a successful indoor/outdoor program to ensure all children's needs and interests are met. There team have built strong connections with the children and there is always something new and exciting for the children's to explore and achieve new levels of learning.
• Our Forest Room is now an integrated 3-year-old-kindergarten program with long day care. The room have adjusted well to create a holistic program including all children in the learning experiences regardless of their age. This room is now a 3-5 year old age group and it is amazing to see the all the children and team come together to create new learning environments, group times and experiences.
• Our Field Room also known as our 4-year-old-kindergarten program is now solely Haven funded children and wow what an amazing achievement for the kinder team. Kinder funding goes directly to our program, resources and the children and it is so exciting to see the learning children gain each week from the curriculum set. It is going to be a big year for the kinder kids and we cant wait to showcase our program to you.

Staffing Updates

This term we have seen a few changes in staffing including:

- A welcome to Ginna our 3 year old Kindergarten Teacher. Alongside Sikha who joined the Forest Room as a permanent educator 

-Welcome to Isabelle and Hayley two new permanent educators mainly working within the River and Sun rooms

-A congratulations to Demmi who will be stepping up as lead educator within the Sun Room

-A congratulations to Lena who is taking on higher responsibility in programming for  the 4 year old children within the Forest Room

Looking Forward

2022 hasn't started off on the best path but we as a team are so committed to seeing what we can achieve for the rest of the year and ensuring we continue to excel in providing children's with the best possible education in the early years of life. It is what Claire would want us to do and what we all strive to achieve.

One thing is for sure we keep everything crossed that 2022 holds no un-welcome lockdowns and that everyone remains safe and healthy. Please do come and see us for Rapid Tests if needed for children and have a conversation about any sicknesses of symptoms.

We are excited we were able to welcome you back into the centre to celebrate Easter and look forward to being able to host these events once again this year. Upcoming we have Mothers Day but keep an eye out on Storypark for future events.
