Masks and Close Contacts
While recommended, face masks are not required in any school settings from 11.59pm 22 April 2022. Any students or staff members who wish to wear a mask may do so, including those who are medically at-risk. This means students in Grades 3 to 6 and staff and visitors to primary schools are no longer required to wear face masks.
If someone in your household has a confirmed Covid-19 diagnosis, this means any school age children in your household are classed as close contacts. The new rules state that any student who is a close contact is now permitted to attend school provided that they carry out a Rapid Antigen Test (RAT) each morning before attending school and wear a face mask whilst at school in indoor settings if they are 8 years old or above.
Rapid Antigen Testing
Free rapid antigen tests will continue to be available for students in Victorian schools for the first four weeks of Term 2, 2022. It is strongly recommended that Rapid antigen testing continues for all primary and secondary students twice weekly.
Extended Leave/ Student Absences
We have a large number of students travelling overseas. This leave of absence is not approved and impacts student academic learning and social engagement. It is crucial that parents meet with the Head of Campus, Ms Neophytou to discuss the proposed leave prior to departure.
Late Arrivals
There is a considerable number of late students arriving after 8.45am every day. It is crucial students arrive on time and do not miss the morning routine. We will be communicating to parents who have developed a pattern of late attendance. We understand it has been difficult returning to a school routine, however support and strategies can be accessed via Ms Neophytou.
College Uniform
The College uniform details are found in the College handbook. It is crucial the uniform is worn correctly and the items purchased are from Rushfords School Wear, Werribee. The students are transitioning this week to the Winter uniform.
