Week 11 Term 1

Dear Parents and Carers, 

STATIONS OF THE CROSS - Friday April 8th 

This Friday (last day of term), the students will be re-enacting THE WAY TO THE CROSS (Stations of the Cross) in the school yard commencing at 9:00am and concluding in the church with a Whole School Mass. All parents are most welcome to join us in the yard and church. We will be asking all parents in attendance to bring your proof of vaccination. We hope you can all attend this very special event.

CASUAL CLOTHES DAY - Friday April 8th

This is the last of our fundraising activities for QLD flood and Ukraine war. Next term we will be able to give you a total of funds collected this term and the organisations that we will receive our support. Thank you to all families for your generous donations and support. 

WINTER ALLOCATION OF AIR PURIFIERS 

As part of the Victorian Governments measures to keep classrooms safe, the winter allocation of air purifiers were delivered last week. St Fidelis received a delivery of another 41 air purifiers for our school. We already have 15 air purifiers in our school making this a total 56 air purifiers in total. These extra purifiers are to ensure that all classrooms and other higher risk spaces in our school have an air purifier available. We are very grateful for these extra air purifiers and we thank the Victorian government for this initiative. 

RECONCILIATION 

IMPORTANT DATES FOR  YEAR 3 CHILDREN RECEIVING THE SACRAMENT OF RECONCILATION IN TERM TWO

  • Year 3 Reconciliation Child Family Faith Night Monday May 2nd (details to follow ) 
  • Celebration of the Sacrament of Reconciliation - Thursday June 9th 7pm. Please note this date has changed. 

OFFICIAL SCHOOL OPENING - Friday April 29th 

We have been advised that Archbishop Peter Comensoli and Minister of Education and Deputy Premier Mr James Merlino will be attending our official Opening and Blessing of our New Refurbished Junior Learning Areas on Friday April 29th at 10:00am.

 

This is a special event for our school and we are very fortunate to have the presence of the Archbishop and the Minister. The Archbishop will celebrate with a liturgy, which includes a special blessing of the building, and the Minister will officially open our new facilities with the unveiling of our school plaque.  

 

This is a great opportunity to showcase our school and all it has to offer. Further details will be communicated as the planning and organisation for this event evolves. 

ART SHOW  DATE CHANGE - Friday May 13th

Due to our Special School Blessing Opening onApril 29th, the ART SHOW will once again be postponed. This is postponed to Friday May 13th (Week 3 Term Two). Details will be forwarded to all families in Term Two. 

CSEF Applications - additional funding

The CSEF (Camp, Sport and Excursion Funding) program is open for application. Please see attached information to see if you qualify for this funding. If you wish to apply, please complete the form and provide a copy of your Health Care Card or other relevant proof of qualifying for funding.  You can submit to  annr@sfmoreland.catholic.edu.au or hand the form to the office. Once we receive the funding, it will be deducted from your fee account for items such as camp, excursion or sporting costs.

SCHOOL FEES

A huge thank you to the families who have settled their School Fees for this term. We still have some families with outstanding fees for this term. It would be appreciated if this terms fees can be settled before the end of this week.

Our school does rely on school fees for many recurrent costs so prompt payment is appreciated. The office is open from 8:30 to 4:00pm each day if you would like to pay in person. During this COVID time, direct debit is preferred. If you pay by direct debit, please use the bank details below. If any families need to discuss alternative arrangements for the payment of fees, please contact me directly.

Special Thank You 

To all my wonderful families at St Fidelis. Thank you for entrusting your precious children to us. I want to reassure you that all the teachers are here for you and your families. If we do not get it right and you have questions please do not hesitate in contacting your child’s teacher, Sally (Wellbeing leader), Vira (Deputy Principal) any of the other leaders or myself. We work as a collaborative team and we are here to ensure we work together for the best of your child. Have a lovely break and see you all safe next term.
