Year Prep - Year 2

Assistant Principal's Report

What an incredibly exciting year 2019 has been at Pakenham Springs Primary School!  There have been so many new initiatives such as our Readers Workshops, celebrations of achievements, new playground equipment and just recently, our mini-market night.  What a wonderful evening this was.  It was exciting to see so many families in attendance, enjoying the evening and the students put on a fantastic show!  The Carols and performances were a real highlight and really showcased just how much special talent we have at 'The Springs' and just how hard everyone works to make the school a truly special one.

In recent weeks we have been busy finalising staffing and student groupings for 2020, and as of this week, students became aware of their Classroom Teacher, room number and classmates for 2020. Our first transition session last Wednesday ran incredibly smoothly and I am excited about what 2020 will bring.  Our final Step-into-Prep session also ran like clockwork and we certainly have some enthusiastic young children, very excited to start school next year.

Students and Teachers in all year levels should feel incredibly proud of their results and accomplishments in 2019.  Working so closely with the Prep, Year One and Year Two teams has given me a great sense of pride in the growth (both academically and physically!) of the students and of the application and commitment of our staff.  We are incredibly fortunate to have such committed and enthusiastic teachers, with such dedicated staff, committed to challenging and bringing out the best in all students.

I look forward to continuing on in my role next year, and being a member of the Pakenham Springs community in what is sure to be another exciting chapter in our school's relatively short history. With planning and priorities already finalised, I look forward to working closely with all key stakeholders to ensure that Pakenham Springs remains a vibrant and exciting learning community, reflecting our three core values of respect, responsibility and resilience.

In the meantime, I hope that everyone has a relaxing and enjoyable break, as well as a very Merry Christmas, shared with loved ones.

Until then, take care.

Regards
