100th Day of Prep
Guess what....last Friday it was the Preps 100th day of school!
In the morning we made 100 Day crowns using lots of colours, pom poms and sequins.
We got to work with our buddies making an ice cream tower counting by 10's to 100.
We also made a picture of how we thought we would look like when we will be 100 years old! Some of us had wrinkles, some of us were bald and some of us had a long grey beard. It was very funny!
In the afternoon we had a party with popcorn, lollipops, fairy bread, music, dancing and party decorations. Our parents came along to our party to celebrate with us! We all had lots of fun and we were happy!

AFL Clinics
For the first four weeks of Term 3, we have been lucky enough to have Adam run some fun, hands-on AFL clinics with all the classes from Prep to 6.
Adam is employed by the Western Bulldog's AFL Club, and his job is to go around to schools and promote and encourage children to learn skills in AFL. Both Adam and I have been extremely impressed by the vast amount of skill the students at Corpus Christi have shown in the sessions so far! It appears we have some future AFL stars in the making.

Book Week Parade
On Monday 19th August we will celebrate Book Week with our annual Book Week Parade during our Monday morning assembly.
Children are invited to come to school dressed as a character from a book or in keeping with this year's theme, Reading is My Secret Power. So start thinking about your costume!
NGV Excursion: Terracotta Warriors Exhibition
Today the Year 3-6 students attended the Terracotta Warriors Exhibition at the National Gallery of Victoria.
The NGV began with a brilliant information session, providing insight into the life of Emperor Qin who reigned over 2000 years ago. We examined ancient Chinese culture and the fascination with potions and immortality.
The students then explored the exhibition. This fantastic experience provided the students the opportunity to see a vast range of art works from China’s ancient terracotta warriors alongside an exhibition of new works by one of the world’s most exciting contemporary artists, Cai Guo-Qiang.
They came face to face with the terracotta warriors, saw brilliant bronze horses, as well as a collection of unique and rare artefacts found within the tomb of Emperor Qin.
This was beautifully paired with the amazing work of Cai Guo-Qiang, and his 10,000 porcelain birds, and his breath taking use of gunpowder in his art.
Once again our children were complimented several times on their exemplary behaviour by the NGV staff.
We extend our sincere thanks to the Krystyna Campbell-Pretty family, whose generosity has enabled our students to have this wonderful experience. They truly have walked away from this excursion with an in-depth understanding of this amazing display.
