2020 Student Leadership

What's going on in STEM?

Our STEM students have been busy designing and constructing bridges. When designing a bridge, strength and safety of the structure are the primary considerations, but cost is very important as well. Students were asked to research some famous bridges worldwide and take note of the specific engineering aspects unique to their design. They were given a range of materials and asked to design a bridge model that spans a distance of 30 cm and investigate how to make the model strong enough to support the test load. Each group had to support their design with their reasoning and creative thinking.

Breakfast Club

On Saturday, 8th February, 15 students volunteered their time to transform the old canteen into the new Breakfast Club location. Their hard work means Breakfast Club is running every Tuesday and Thursday morning before school, from 8am to 8:50am, in the old canteen. Everyone is welcome to come to come and grab something to eat before the school day starts!
