R U OK?
Got a niggling feeling that someone you know or care about it isn’t behaving as they normally would? Perhaps they seem out of sorts? More agitated or withdrawn? Or they’re just not themselves. Trust that gut instinct and act on it.
By starting a conversation and commenting on the changes you’ve noticed, you could help that family member, friend or workmate open up. If they say they are not ok, you can follow our conversation steps to show them they’re supported and help them find strategies to better manage the load. If they are ok, that person will know you’re someone who cares enough to ask. Source: RUOK?website
Thursday September 13 we will once again stand together and ask each other RUOK? A simple but a vital question. So ask someone today RUOK? More importantly ask them tomorrow and next week, and keep asking, especially when you get that ‘niggling feeling’.
House Captains Speeches for 2019
The excitement of the announcement of our College Captains 2019 will continue as we now launch the process for electing House captains for 2019. Already I have had a number of students putting themselves forward as prospective candidates. The challenge, however, is for all students to seek leadership opportunities, formal and informal as we follow in the footsteps of St. Peter, as servant leaders. Congratulations to the College Captains for 2019, and a tremendous thank you to the College Captains of 2018, remember your service is still needed and most highly valued.
Japan Exchange Tour:
I am greatly honoured to be part of the Japanese Exchange Tour for 2018. We depart on Friday September 14 and return Sunday September 30. I and Mr Andrew Mitchell have the great privilege of travelling with exceptionally generous and considerate students from both campuses. I am very much looking forward to my first experience of Japan and I know I am in great hands with a fantastic tour leader, Teacher in Charge, Mr Mitchell who is fluent in Japanese and has travelled extensively throughout Japan. I predict that the experiences gained will provide all of us a powerful learning and personal growth experience. I will be sure to update you all in next week’s newsletter.
Acting Head of Campus:
Whilst I am in Japan, Ms Janelle McRae will be stepping in as Acting Head of Campus. I thank Janelle most sincerely for accepting this position and know that she will be outstanding in this role.

Carpark and Child Safety
I ask all parents to support us in managing the safety of your children at the beginning and end of the school day by not entering the school premises by vehicle to drop off or pick up your child. The school simply cannot accommodate vehicles driving in and out of the staff car park, therefore we once again respectfully remind all parents, do not drive onto the Campus grounds to collect or drop off your child.
I wish you a safe and productive week.
Mrs Julie Banda
