VCE EXAMS
Congratulations to all the VCE performance students who have completed their technical exams and are now preparing for their performance exams. Your level of musicianship is definitely beginning to develop well and the connection with the music is showing through your performance.
RECENT PERFORMANCES
CLAREMONT TERRACE
Congratulations to the vocal students who took part in the Mother’s Day and Volunteers Thank You concert at Claremont Terrace on Thursday 11 May. Your commitment and musicianship were highly appreciated. Thank you to Ms Blanka West for her ongoing organisation of these events.
REGIONAL STRINGFEST DAY
Well done to the 22 string students who represented McKinnon Secondary College at the regional Stringfest day on Wednesday 17 May at Patterson River Secondary College. Thank you to Ms Clare Bugeja and Mr Stuart Cook for providing the opportunity for these students to attend these great events.
SENIOR CONCERT
Congratulations to the many students who were involved in the very successful Senior Concert on Wednesday 17 May. The standard of musicianship was incredibly high and demonstrated an ongoing commitment to increasing standards of all the ensembles within the college.
Thank you to all the music directors who helped prepare the students for this event. Thank you to all the parents and friends who attended; your support is highly appreciated.
GENERAL ASSEMBLY
Congratulations to the McKinnon Choir who performed at the General Assembly on Thursday 25 May. The standard of musicianship was very high. Congratulations also to Kate Collier who sang the National Anthem at the Assembly. Thank you to Ms Blanka West for her ongoing commitment to the development of the choir and the vocal students in preparation for these events.
TERM 2 UPCOMING PERFORMANCES
Term 2 still has a number of performances where students will be able to demonstrate their developing skills. Students are reminded to keep their attendance at the rehearsals for their ensembles to a high level. These are the dates for important performances and workshops throughout this term (this list will be updated each fortnight):
- VSMF: Orchestra Section – Keenan Strings - Thursday 8 June
- Year 12 Music Night - Wednesday 14 June
- Junior Concert - Thursday 28 June
