VINNIES COLLEGE CONFERENCE DAY

Congratulations to Lucia Roohizadegan of Year 11 for her involvement in the 'Vinnies College Conference Day' in The Abbotsford Convent earlier this month. Lucia said that it was “a thrilling experience.”

As the winner for the award last year, Lucia delivered a speech explaining her inspiration behind her winning artwork. She also explained what advocacy means to her and what message she has for other students her age.

Her mum took a few photographs and captured a few snippets of her talk.

YEAR 11 STUDIO ART CLASSES VISIT NATIONAL GALLERY OF VICTORIA

On Thursday 4 May, both Year 11 Studio Arts classes went to the NGV to learn about a variety of different artist’s use of materials and techniques through a floor talk with an Art educator, who showed and discussed a broad range of artworks, media and art styles.

We also attended a very informative talk on the current Van Gogh exhibition. After lunch in the beautiful sculpture garden, we viewed the stunning Van Gogh exhibition, as well as a very interesting installation by Australian artist Fiona Hall.
