SENIOR GIRLS TENNIS
So our journey continued... We were down to the last eight in the state and pretty excited.
We travelled to Boroondara to play our State Tennis Finals on Monday 22 May. Starting off in Pool B, we began slowly, winning only a few games to Box Hill Secondary College (who incidentally made the State Final!).
In Round 2, now warmed up, we played FCJC from Benalla. We won convincingly 4-2 to qualify for the State Semi Finals.
It now meant that we were in the Top 4 SSV Senior Girls Tennis teams in Victoria!
We met our match against Maribynong Secondary College who proved too strong. We were absolutely thrilled with coming 3rd in the State.
Thanks Mrs Hooper for your coaching and support throughout our campaign and Mr Krause for his awesome photos.

The girls won the Kingston Division in Term 1 defeating Brighton.
Then the girls played in the Southern Metropolitan Region Finals on Tuesday 2 May where they finished Runners-Up to Glen Eira yet secured an invitation to the State Finals.
At the State Finals held at Jells Park on Tuesday the girls acquitted themselves very well yet lost their first match to eventual winners Sunbury College 18-2. They then played Melbourne Girls College easily winning 14-8 to finish 2nd in their pool and equal 3rd in the state.
A great effort girls!!

ALL-SCHOOLS ROAD RELAY CHAMPIONSHIPS 2017
On Saturday 20 May, McKinnon’s elite Cross-Country runners competed in the All-Schools Road Relay Championships at Albert Park Reserve.
The All-schools competition involves students from all private schools around Victoria and therefore the standard of runners is extremely high.
It is the first time McKinnon has entered teams in this competition and we left with our heads held high after a great experience racing against the state’s best runners.
Our Under 14 Boys team of Finn Paynter, Matt Day, Jai Curran-Nicholls and Seamus O’Brien were our most successful team on the day, coming in 5th place behind the winning team from Haileybury College in the 4 x 2km event. The outstanding result saw the boys defeat teams from exclusive private schools including Wesley, Marcelin, Carey, Trinity, Brighton Grammar, St Kevins and Xavier.
We also had our Under 18 Boys team of Sam Kristensen, Harry Mouzakis, Jason Clayton and Michael Koletsas come 9th in the 4 x 3km event. Jason with an outstanding time of 9:30 mins for the 3km track.
Our Senior Boys team of Skyler and Josh Kah, Braydon Ross and Will Ockenden came 10th in the Under 20 4 x 3km event. Will with an outstanding time of 9:17 mins for the 3km track.
Well done to our other 5 teams on the day, the Under 16 Boys (12th place), the Under 14 and Under 16 Girls (both 14th place), the Under 18 Girls (19th place) and the Under 20 Girls (21st place).
