School & Community Partnerships

Due to the current circumstances in the wider community Snack Shack will be closed until further notice. We want to thank everyone for their help and support this Term and hope that we can continue again in Term 2.
We did also wish to say a BIG thanks to everyone who purchased from and supported the Snack Shack in 2019 – because of the funds raised we have been able to purchase TWO new freezers for Snack Shack, to replace our well-loved old ones which we had to retire. They are just AMAZING!
EASTER BASKET RAFFLE
Win an Easter Raffle Basket!
It is an anxious time for many at the moment and we are hoping to spread a little Easter joy to the children.
On the last day of school Ripper Families will be drawing out 4 names -one from Foundation, one from 1/2, one from 3/4 and one from 5/6 - and those 4 lucky children will be heading home with a HUGE Easter Basket!
Ripper Families would love everyone to be involved in our raffle, by each child popping an Easter themed donation into the labelled box in their classrooms. This is a moment to be able to
share with others, so we are grateful for any donation. The boxes for donations are in each Classroom until 27th March.
Tickets are $1 and you can purchase those on QKR.
Don’t forget to put your child’s correct year on, so it can go into the right draw!
All money goes to RPS fundraising.
SMOOTHIE DAY
Postponed until Term 2
Due to the current lack of stock at local supermarkets Smoothie Day will be postponed until a chosen date in Term 2. For everyone who has already purchased a smoothie for their child do not fear we will hold onto your credit and you will receive the smoothie on our postponed date.
UNIFORM SHOP
Again, to support the wider community and also to ensure we all support the changed school drop off procedures, the uniform shop will be closed until further notice. Please remember you can go online and purchase items you need from EduThreads - https://eduthreads.com.au/collections/ripponlea-primary-school
BOOK CLUB
All orders for Issue 2 closed last week on the 13th of March. Thanks to those who participated.
We don’t yet have an ETA for Issue 2’s orders, but when they do arrive – the Scholastic Team with deliver them to classrooms ASAP!
RPS receives a percentage of every purchase, which goes to our library, so thank you for supporting us.
BATTLE OF THE BANDS
The Ripponlea Parents Band will be battling it out with seven other Primary School Parents Bands, at the Prince Bandroom on Thursday 14 May.
Parents Battle of the Bands was created so that schools such as ours, can raise funds to put towards musical education. The more Ripponlea community we have at the event, the more funds we can make for our beautiful school.
Ticket purchasing details will be provided in the next newsletter.
END OF TERM 1
We wish all families a safe and healthy Term 1 break. Please remember to look after yourselves and your families, and be kind to those in our community who may need support at this difficult time.
We also wish to acknowledge the work that the teaching support staff, teachers, Jess and Natalie have put in at this time. The sense of calm and ongoing communication over the last weeks has shown us once again how exceptionally lucky we all are to be part of the Ripponlea Primary School community. Make sure you all try to take some time for your selves during the holidays.
We look forward to seeing everyone in Term 2 and providing more opportunities for the school community to come together.
Thanks,
SCP committee
