Our School Values

Our students have been talking and learning more about our School Values of Kindness, Personal Growth and Tenacity.  They have been learning about how to show these values in all that we do at Karoo PS and they are encouraged to explain what these values mean in their own words.  A student in year 3 shared her thoughts on Personal Excellence with me today.

'Personal Excellence is showing how you can improve in your learning.  It doesn't matter if the learning is different to other students because it is just right for you.  My teacher helps me to have the right learning for me so I can show my personal excellence and I have so much fun in my class!'  Arada G (Year 3)

I look forward to sharing more of our students insights about our School Values in the coming weeks.

In the meantime, if you and your children are looking for ways to show kindness, please see some ideas from the Kindness Calendar for inspiration.

Attendance

'Everyday Counts!'  Our aim to for every student to have a great day at school and to be present everyday.  However, a friendly reminder that if your child is unwell and needs to remain at home, please record their absence on Compass as soon as possible.

The students at Karoo PS have also been working on a new 'motto' to help us be at school everyday!  SO STAY TUNED........... this will be announced in the coming weeks!

Wellbeing Groups

The Karoo PS Wellbeing Groups will commence in week 6/7 this term, focusing on 'social skills' and understanding 'anxiety and worry' and strategies to build students capacity in these areas.  From Term 2, the 'Growth Mindset' Group will begin.

Thank you to everyone who has expressed an interest in taking part in these groups and I know there are many students who are looking forward to starting soon!!  Permission forms for these groups will be coming home from next week.

If you would like your child to participate in a wellbeing group or to find out more information, please send your query to Courtney.Hoffmann@education.vic.gov.au.

Lego - Call out!

Lego Wanted!

Dear Karoo PS community, we are looking for any  donations of Lego, that you may not want anymore.  We would like to build up our Lego resources to use them at lunchtime clubs and to support students creativity.

There will be a tub at the front office to place your donations in from Monday 27th of February.  Thanking you all in advance!

I hope that you all have a wonderful week and I look forward to seeing you around the school!

Kind Regards,
