College Captain Introductions to the Community

Emily Lam

I’d like to start off by mentioning that it is a great honour to represent the students at Homestead. Each day at school, I get the pleasure of walking down the halls and being able to experience the functioning of a harmonious community. Our students are friendly, ambitious and resilient, never surrendering to the frequent pressures of a senior school. For this, I am incredibly grateful to be surrounded by such inspiring peers, with each having their own unique story to tell.  As a science enthusiast, I have found my niche at the school along with many like-minded students who are extremely passionate about the wonderful world of science. It is to my hope that future students may also be able to explore what they are passionate about and feel supported like I have. This year, I aim to showcase the talents and stories of our students, as well as help to highlight our unity within the wider community.

Thank you,

Emily

Hi everyone, I just wanted to share my gratitude and appreciation for being able to be one of your school captains for 2023. We had an awesome start to the year with our athletics carnival. I was really proud of all of you and all of the efforts you put into your events, costumes or just being present, meant alot. I really want to implement our sporting culture into HSSC and leave behind a strong cohort that is proud and connected to the school and their peers. Something you should know about me is that I love reading, whenever I get the chance. I love my sports, music and spending time outdoors whether that be shopping or being in nature. I was born in New Zealand, Wellington and then moved to QLD, Brisbane then NSW, Sydney and now I am here. I am the eldest child of 3 in the family so, if you need an older sister to talk to I’ve got you;) Can’t wait to spend this year with you all, signing off.

Thank you,

Tia
