House News-Leonis

Megan Choppy, Tristan Longmuir (House Captain) and Ash Fraraccio (House Leader)

Leonis is off to a wonderful start in 2023. Our Year 8’s, 9’s and 10’s represented us well at the Sport Bonanza in December 2022, finishing 1st overall. This sets us up for a strong start in the 2023 House Championship battle.

This effort was followed by a wonderful display, by the whole of Leonis House, at the Aquatics Carnival, where we finshed 2nd behind a strong Delphinus House. Congratualtions to Joshua Pavloff of LE6 and Megan Choppy of LE4 who were year level champions on the day as a result of their excellent performances in the pool.

Tristan and Megan have begun working on the next House challenge, Yard Duty. Each homeroom will be responsible for a week of cleaning the yard after lunch. It began with LE1 last week, LE2 continues this week- the full roster is as follows:

  • Week 6- LE3
  • Week 7- LE4
  • Week 8- LE5
  • Week 9- LE6
  • Week 10- LE1

Students will be aware of the area they are responsible for and we ask they commit to helping their homeroom maintain a clean school yard!

Lastly, we welcome and congratulate the following students on their appointment to the Student Representative Council (SRC):Patrick Cantsilieris, Tiara Sok, Emma Jorissen, Kelemen Dominic, Abigail Cachart and Jonathan Ben. Tristan, Megan and I look forward to working with this team as they respresent their peers.

It won’t be long before we are preparing for House Athletics so getting training Leonis; let’s see what we can achieve on the track and in the field.
