What does the College Theme ‘Known and Loved’ mean?

This artwork was re-created by 11KWL after discussing and sharing their ideas relating to the College Theme.

“Known: People understand you and your feelings and know what you’re capable of. Love: You have a sense of belonging and are treated with respect.”

“I understand from the College theme that you should respect everybody no matter how different others are compared to you. To show that everyone is known and loved.”

“Known is to be recognized for your uniqueness. Love is to be wanted and to be accepted.”

“‘Known and loved’ to me means that we are all individually known and loved by God. He sees us for who we are, with all our flaws, and loves us.”

“That is the nature of being acknowledged and recognised, making sure that you look out for others around you. Everyone is like ants, you have separate groups, but no matter what, there is always someone there that always cares about you, friends, families and in some circumstances, strangers.”

“God knows and loves you.”

“To be known, is to be recognized by your individualities. Even though you are entirely different than others, you have an identity. To be known is to be recognized by that identity. It can also have the power to captivate people and then more people know you and what you preach. To be loved is to be accepted. When you are loved, you feel safe, accepted and known. You get a sense of security and assurance. It is basically a shoulder to lean on. Some people have never experienced love in their life. But I believe that if you seek God, you will find love.”
