Grade 1

Maths in Grade 1 is a lot of fun!  The Grade 1s have been learning about place value - the value of digits in numbers.  Games are an important part of Maths learning in Grade 1.  For the past two weeks the children have played games such as 'Last Number Standing', 'Beat The Teacher', 'Race to 50' and 'Blast off to 100' to enhance their learning.

Home Readers: 

From the beginning of the year the students should have been bringing home 5 readers for the week. It is expected that students do 10 - 20 minutes of reading each night and parents record this in their diary. This should be a nice opportunity to hear your child read and to ask some questions about what they have read.
